Med Gull video

Med Gull

Although it looked like an adult bird, this is actually a 'third-summer'. There were a few dark edges to the outer primaries when it was flying, otherwise it looked just how an adult Mediterranean Gull should. Broom GP, 28th May 2007 by Steve Blain.

'Tundra' Ringed Plovers

tundrae Ringed Plover above and the more local (breeding) hiaticula race bird below.

One of four 'Tundra' Ringed Plovers at Broom GP tonight. These are the first at Broom this spring, dispite Paxton Pits (just up the road in Cambridgeshire) averaging 40 individuals of this race a day at the moment! Steve Blain, 26th May 2007.

Making a new friend


A newly fledged Robin paid me a visit as I made some adjustments around the garden pond on May 19. Spot the piece of pipe feeding the back of the stream which needs to be hidden a bit better ;-)
