'Channel' Wagtail, Broom GP, 5th April 2011. An apparent hybrid between Yellow and Blue-headed Wagtails. Unforunately these type of hybrids are more common than pure flava in Bedfordshire.

F(l)ava beans

The name 'Channel' Wagtail is a colloquial term for what's thought to be a Blue-headed/Yellow Wagtail hybrid (flava x flavissima).

This fellow was in a bean field north of Eggington. The distant record shots have been magnified to allow closer scrutiny of the plumage. As for the post title - I chiant-imagine a worse pun ...
