900 Lapwings were present at Willington GP today together with a few Golden Plovers.


I counted 102 Mute Swans at Willington with 92 on the first Octagon Farm pool !

Caspian Gull

First-winter Caspian Gull, Brogborough Lake, 24th December 2007 by Steve Blain. This is probably the first Caspo in the brick pits for about four weeks, found by, the ever consistent, Neil Wright.

Not a bad effort for an old point and shoot compact camera. Mind you, anyone can get a good shot of a Jack Snipe - the trick is seeing them before they fly - only my second time ever I've managed this.
