Siberian Chiffchaff. MVCP Dec 2013.
Due to a dodgy back I had to contend with smaller camera gear, but managed to grab some shots of the 'other' Siberian Chiffchaff that Steve Blain originally found.

Mandarin Ducks Stockgrove Park
Unfortunately we lost Mum this morning after a very prolonged illness and thought I would clear my head and pop up to Stockgrove CP in Leighton Buzzard with the dog and the camera, which was one of Mums favourite places when she was mobile.
Came across a large number of the usual suspects on site, but also 30 + Mandarin Ducks which coincidentally were also one of her favourite birds and enclose some photo's taken late afternoon, she would have loved to have been with me.
RIP Mum

Great Grey Shrike Streatley
Popped up early afternoon to Streatley to see if I could finally bump into the Great Grey Shrike. To my delight it was showing really well on the telegraph wires running parallel to the Icknield Way path up from the Swiss Cottages. The bird likes to keep its distance 200-300 yards but was showing really well. Lovely to see at last after many attempts. I also note the GGS at Thurleigh was reported today so a bit of an influx, lets hope they stay.
