Colours of spring
Always good to see male birds in their spring plumage and chats are among my favourite birds, so pleased to get some images of these two that capture the essence of the last part of March

Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers Eversholt Lake
A Pair of Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers were showing very well today generally very high up in the canopy, I was on site between 11.30 - 14.00 and had many good views over the time on site. They were regularly being harassed by the Great Spotted Woodpeckers but are quite feisty little beggers and weren't too put out by the aggro.
Other species seen on site today, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Green Woodpecker, Goldcrest, Wren, Treecreeper, Long Tailed, Blue and Great Tit, loads of Goldfinch, 7 Goosander, Buzzard, Chaffinch, Jackdaw, Crow, Pheasant, Magpie, Canada & Greylag Geese, Mute Swan, Mallard, some aggressive Coot and a Roe Deer.

Leucistic Cormorant remains
The leucistic Cormorant first located at MVCP around 18th August 2014 is still around, never straying far from MVCP/Stewartby. This image captured as it roosted on the branch of a submerged fallen tree in early March 2015
