Cetti's Warbler and Kingfisher, Warren Villas
Cetti's Warblers have been reported from near Derek Gruar's ringing site at Warren Villas recently. But we'd never heard one on the site until this morning. We were setting a net when the bird started singing from nearby. It got closer, and then flew into the net (which we hadn't finished putting up)!
Cetti's Warblers have only eight tail feathers.
Kingfishers have not been very obvious around Warren Villas lately, but this male was caught and ringed this morning

Cetti's have 10 tail feathers, (not 8); the usual number for passerines is 12.
