I sat and watched this Jay hiding in a tree observing an industrious Nuthatch cache food in a hole in this Silver Birch tree. After a while it jumped in when the Nuthatch's back was turned and scoffed the lot, they are an extremely clever bird far too clever for the lovely Nuthatch!!

Stockgrove Country Park 01-02-2015
I spent a very cold and blustery hour and a half at Stockgrove CP early this morning, no Mandarins on site this morning but a good showing of Nuthatch, Coal, Blue, Great Tits, Wren, Robin, Chaffinch, Dunnock, Goldcrest, Jay, Magpie, Green Woodpecker, Jackdaw, Crow, Mallard and Moorhen.
